I am a licensed clinical psychologist with a solo private practice in Corrales, New Mexico, emphasizing psychotherapy services. I see individuals, couples, and families in the Corrales, Albuquerque, and Rio Rancho areas. I provide counseling services to children, adolescents, and adults.
My early training emphasized parenting, and this remains a strong focus, as are relationship and growth issues. I often help clients improve their ability to manage conflict, as well as to develop an even-tempered approach in relationships. I believe that genuineness is essential to navigating relationships successfully.
What to Expect:
The initial session will usually last approximately one hour. It is best to arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled session in order to complete paperwork. I will ask about your reason for coming in, your past history, and what you would like to accomplish in therapy.
In subsequent sessions, I will ask fewer questions and encourage you to delve more deeply into feelings, thoughts and behavior patterns, as well as explore what effect the past may have had in your life. I will sometimes offer opinions or make suggestions, but, to a large extent, my role is to facilitate your finding your own truths and developing a clearer idea of the directions you would like to go.
